As a Qualcomm Software Application Engineer, you will provide technical expertise of software systems through technical presentations in support of business development, product demonstrations, design and development of customer specific requirements, commercialization, and maintenance of Qualcomm products. Qualcomm Engineers collaborate with cross-functional teams and customers to address questions, issues, debugging, or troubleshooting regarding software systems and applications.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years of Software Applications Engineering, Software Development experience, or related work experience.
  
  
  

OR

Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 3+ years of Software Applications Engineering, Software Development experience, or related work experience.

OR

PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Applications Engineering, Software Development experience, or related work experience.

• 2+ years of experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.
• 1+ year of experience with debugging techniques.

The role includes responsibilities across system performance analysis, validation, debugging, and optimization.

Responsibilities

The job responsibilities include a subset of the following:

• System performance, GPU workload analysis, benchmarking, and KPI generation.
• Performance validation and debugging of performance issues in cloud systems.
• Architecture analysis and understanding product features and their impact on system performance for optimization.
  
  
  

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 9 years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree with 8 years of relevant experience in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, and/or a closely related field.
• Experience with C and C++ programming, RTOS, OS internals, kernel programming, and UNIX/Win/Linux computing platforms.
• Experience with scripting, utilized for developing customized tools for profiling system performance.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with background and experience in debugging system performance issues.
• Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new technologies, with flexibility to learn and work in new technology areas.
• Strong written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Flexibility with assignments and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Good understanding of software environments and toolchains (specifically GNU toolchains, Git, and Gerrit).
