Job Overview - Dept Description and Job Duties: As a Senior Staff/Engineering Manager within Qualcomm’s Connectivity Engineering team, you will provide technical and execution leadership across complex, business‑critical programs. You will play a key role in defining, developing, and delivering connectivity technologies that power Qualcomm’s flagship platforms across Mobile, XR, Wearables, IoT, and emerging domains.
This role requires a strong technical foundation in connectivity technologies (Bluetooth, Wi‑Fi, NFC, UWB, etc.), the ability to lead without formal authority, and the skill to influence cross‑functional and global stakeholders. You will operate at the intersection of architecture, execution, and collaboration—driving results through clarity, ownership, and a strong can‑do mindset.
Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 5+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
OR
PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.

- Act as a senior member of the Connectivity Engineering team, providing technical and execution leadership across multiple programs.
- Lead complex, cross‑team programs from architecture definition through development, integration, and commercialization.
- Drive architecture definition, requirements clarity, and technical direction for connectivity solutions.
- Lead and actively participate in design, architecture, and implementation reviews, ensuring quality, robustness, and scalability.
- Mentor and coach engineers, raising the technical bar, execution discipline, and ownership culture.
- Influence and align cross‑functional stakeholders across software, hardware, systems, validation, product, and customer teams.
- Demonstrate the ability to lead without authority, driving outcomes through collaboration, credibility, and clear communication.
- Engage directly with customers and partners, supporting technical discussions, issue resolution, and roadmap alignment.
- Identify technical risks early, drive mitigation strategies, and ensure disciplined execution.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with technical teams, leadership, and external stakeholders.
- Exhibit a strong team‑player mindset with a proactive, solution‑oriented, can‑do attitude.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Computer Science, or related engineering discipline (Master’s preferred).
- 10+ years of experience in embedded software, systems engineering, or connectivity technologies.
- Strong expertise in one or more connectivity technologies such as Bluetooth, Wi‑Fi, NFC, UWB.
- Solid understanding of system architecture, embedded software design, and cross‑layer interactions.
- Proven track record of leading complex technical initiatives and influencing teams beyond direct reporting structures.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify and convey complex concepts.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 6+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 5+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
OR
PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
- 3+ years of work experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.
- Experience working with global, geographically distributed teams.
- Prior experience in technical leadership or engineering management roles.
- Customer‑facing experience in handling technical discussions, escalations, or roadmap engagements.
- Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in ambiguous, fast‑paced environments
