Purpose of the Role:

As the Test Engineer Co-op, you will support the testing team in all aspects of the testing process, from mechanical to electrical, and concept through execution. The primary goal is to ensure the quality, accuracy, and repeatability of test data to help drive data-based decisions.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • You are currently enrolled in a Mechanical or Mechatronics Undergraduate Degree, or similar.
  • You have hands-on experience working in a laboratory or test facility.
  • You have hands-on experience in test station fabrication or similar.
  • You have basic knowledge in instrumentation, control automation, and data acquisition systems.
  • You have the ability to apply knowledge and basic problem-solving techniques to define and resolve problems.

What Success looks like in this role:

  • You will support testing team in design, fabrication, calibration and commissioning of test equipment to ensure it is safe and fit for purpose.
  • You will procure all necessary tools and materials required for fabrication, assembly, and testing processes.
  • You will execute assigned tests, ensuring all procedures and safety practices are followed while delivering quality data to the internal customers in a timely manner.
  • You will maintain and make available proper documentation of test equipment, results, and data in the correct locations.
  • You will troubleshoot any issues that arise with test equipment and perform preventative maintenance tasks where possible including identifying and resolving equipment malfunctions, calibrating instruments, and ensuring proper function of the testing apparatus.
