Purpose of the Role:

As the Manufacturing Engineer Co-op, you will be responsible for refining & improving existing processes and supporting the development of new automation equipment/assembly lines. You will participate in and encouraging engagement in continuous improvement activities.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • You have an interest in manufacturing process development and/or automation
  • You possess excellent problem-solving and analytical skills and are able to perform root cause analysis.
  • You have knowledge of process validation and quality management systems.
  • You are proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) and Solidworks, Creo or other CAD software.
  • You have strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

What Success looks like in this role:

  • You will design, develop, and improve manufacturing processes and workflows to enhance efficiency, productivity, and quality.
  • You will learn a culture of continuous improvement initiatives and utilize various methodologies to identify and eliminate waste, reduce costs, and improve overall operational efficiency.
  • You will investigate production issues, perform root cause analysis, and develop corrective and preventive actions to address quality or process problems.
  • You will learn to analyze manufacturing processes and equipment to improve efficiency and reduce machinery downtime as well as research and potentially implement new equipment.
  • You will learn reliable safety control systems for safeguarding automated equipment and other high volume manufacturing equipment.
