Purpose of the Role:
As the VTS Test Co-op, you will perform essential test tasks and data analysis following procedures and instructions. The VTS Test Co-op will also be helping with other test activities as needed.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- You are a
3rd or 4th year student pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or chemical Engineering.
- You have 4-8 months
previous co-op/intern experience in a related industry. - You have knowledge of process equipment, such as Valves, pumps, and heat exchangers.
- You have exposure to data acquisition, signal filtering and conditioning.
- You have an ability to follow detailed instruction.
- You have prior hands-on experience with lab/plant operations, basic maintenance, and/or process control.
- You have previous experience with pipe-work/plumbing.
- You have able to comfortably lift and move items as needed.
What Success looks like in this role:
- You will follow instructions to safely operate the single bed test unit (VTS) on some essential testing activities, including DP, BT and process testing.
- You will monitor process data such as pressure, temperature, flowrate, and compositions.
- You will perform instrument calibration (mass spectrometer, flow controllers, flow meters) and take gas samples.
- You will maintain a detailed log and records of each test daily.
- You will record any variances or issues during the test and inform team members/supervisors.
