Brief about the Team
The Purchase & Planning team at Tata 1mg plays a critical role in ensuring seamless product availability across our Fulfillment Centres, Retail Pharmacies and Healthcare ecosystem. The team is responsible for demand forecasting, inventory planning, procurement, vendor management, and maintaining optimal stock levels across warehouses and stores. About the Role:
We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Purchase Associate to support our procurement team. You will be responsible for sourcing products, managing vendor relations, and ensuring optimal stock levels while maintaining quality standards and accurate records.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Sourcing and Purchasing – Identify, evaluate, and procure materials, products, and services as per company requirements
2. Researching Suppliers – Conduct market research to identify new suppliers and evaluate existing ones on cost, quality, and delivery timelines
3. Negotiating with Vendors – Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules to achieve cost savings and value
4. Maintaining Vendor Relationships – Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with vendors to ensure reliable supply
5. Maintaining Stock Levels – Monitor inventory, forecast demand, and coordinate with stakeholders to avoid stock-outs or overstocking
6. Quality Assurance – Verify that purchased goods meet required quality standards and specifications
7. Record Keeping – Maintain accurate purchase records, POs, invoices, and vendor databases for audit and reporting
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Pharma / Diploma in Pharma
- 1-3 years of experience in purchasing/procurement roles preferred
- Microsoft Excel – Strong proficiency in spreadsheets, VLOOKUP, pivot tables for tracking orders and inventory
- Microsoft PowerPoint – Ability to create vendor analysis reports and procurement presentations
- Data Analysis – Comfortable analyzing supplier data, pricing trends, and purchase patterns to support decisions
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- High attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work under deadlines in a fast-paced environment
