Catalera BioSolutions is looking for a dynamic and experienced Key Account Manager to join our team.

As a Key Account Manager at Catalera, you will lead our relationship building and account management efforts, focusing on delivering tailored, collaborative solutions for our customers. This role presents an exciting opportunity for a driven professional with proven experience in biological agricultural sales and a passion for cultivating long-term partnerships that drive mutual success.

Our Key Account Manager will work from a home office base centrally located and near an international airport to facilitate travel to the west and east coast. You will travel up to 50% of the time to our head office in Vancouver, BC Canada and customer sites primarily in the US and currently concentrated in western states and the southeast.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Relationship Building and Management

  • Commercial lead for key customer accounts, driving long-term partnerships and business growth.
  • Foster and maintain strong, trusting relationships with key customers.
  • Build strategic partnerships to maximize customer success and drive revenue growth through a deep understanding of customer needs and how Catalera can enable customers to achieve their business, product, and market goals.

Account Management

  • Champion the value of Catalera’s products and technologies by maintaining in-depth knowledge of our offerings and company vision.
  • Analyze customer accounts to identify opportunities for improvement and expansion.
  • Develop and implement growth strategies tailored to customer needs and aligned with company goals.
  • Oversee and manage customer rebate and incentive programs, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Generate new business opportunities by identifying prospects primarily within agricultural, consumer, and professional sectors.
  • Consistently achieve or exceed sales targets by effectively managing customer portfolios and uncovering opportunities for upselling and/or cross-selling.
  • Create and present competitive pricing structures and customized programs that drive successful customer outcomes.
  • Work closely with the marketing team to support commercial strategies, including product launches, promotions, and campaigns.
  • Ensure exceptional customer service by proactively addressing customer needs and exceeding expectations.
  • Take on additional responsibilities as needed to support Catalera’s broader business goals.

Innovation

  • Keep current with emerging technologies, as well as global standards.
  • Understand and communicate customer requirements to our regulatory, product development and innovation teams.
  • Regularly update our customers on our products and innovations.

Project Teamwork

  • Regularly communicate and update the team on progress, successes, challenges and solutions.
  • Work with the commercial and development teams to ensure the feasibility and delivery of sales and marketing objectives.

ABOUT YOU

  • Hands-on and can-do attitude, detail-oriented, with strong organizational skills.
  • Proven track record in customer management and excellent communication skills.
  • Strong collaboration/interpersonal skills and an entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Creative and resourceful problem-solver used to multi-tasking.
  • Proactive mindset coupled with enthusiasm for success.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS

  • BSc degree in agriculture, biology, business or economics or related fields, or the equivalent education and years of experience; an MBA is a strong asset.
  • 2-5 years’ experience in agricultural sales and/or key account role, managing and nurturing relationships with key customers, and/or 5+ years as a territory sales manager.
  • Experience working in fast-paced, start-up scale industry environments are an asset.
  • Proven experience and success building strong and lasting business relationships.
  • Proven experience developing sales strategies that meet company and sales objectives.
  • High level of critical thinking to develop actionable solutions.
  • Continuous improvement mindset.
  • Solid influential skills to drive consensus and tackle hard problems in innovative ways.
