The Role:
The ideal candidate will have significant experience in small-scale fermentation operations. Experience in operating 2L Eppendorf systems is preferred. The job entails ensuring that weekly fermentation runs are carried out to support our goals. The candidate will manage junior employees and manage workflows to ensure safety, operational success and operational efficiency.
What you'll accomplish:
- Leading and executing strain screening at 2L scale. Ensure operational excellence in 2L strain screening.
- Collaborates closely with the Strain Engineering (SE) team to support goals. Work with the SE team to help develop better, more predictive microtiter plate screening protocols.
- Support early-stage R&D studies with strain screening of newly designed strains and operational improvements, including planning, organizing, executing, analyzing, and reporting results.
- Collaborate effectively with strain engineers and fermentation process development engineers to accelerate progress across the teams.
- Identify areas for process optimization and implement strategies to enhance quality, throughput, and process robustness.
- Demonstrate strong leadership and team-oriented mindset, with excellent planning, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Build and manage a high-performance team by attracting, nurturing, and motivating top talent.
- Advocate for and maintain rigorous laboratory safety standards.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and collaborative work culture.
What you bring (required):
- BSc or MSc in chemical engineering, microbiology, biological/life sciences, or a related field, with at least 3 years of relevant industrial experience.
- Strong interest in planning and executing complex experiments, analyzing data, and mentoring others while collaborating and communicating across multiple teams.
- Hands-on experience with bench-scale fermentation operations.
- Experience with Eppendorf 2L DASGIP systems is preferred.
- Solid understanding of fermentation processes.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings or weekends, as needed.

Pay Range: $100,000 - 125,000
At EVERY™ pay ranges are subject to change and assigned to a job based on the location specific market median of similar jobs according to 3rd party salary benchmark surveys. Individual pay within that range can vary for several reasons including skills/capabilities, experience, and available budget.
