Description
We are looking for a dedicated and collaborative Financial Operations Specialist to join our team. This position is based in Nordhorn, Germany, where you will be an integral part of the local team while reporting to the Headquarters (HQ) Finance department, overseas.
The ideal candidate is a true team player who can balance hands-on bookkeeping and operational support with the structured reporting and compliance requirements. You will ensure that local financial operations are seamless and accurate.
Key Responsibilities
- Full Cycle Bookkeeping: Manage the daily accounting cycle for our subsidiary, including:
- Processing accounts payable (AP) and coordinating vendor payments.
- Issuing accounts receivable (AR) and managing the invoicing process (for two subsidiaries).
- Performing bank and credit card reconciliations and general ledger maintenance.
- Tax Compliance & Reporting: Responsible for the preparation and timely filing of VAT reports (and other local indirect tax requirements) in accordance with local regulations.
- Collections & Cash Flow: Actively manage customer collections.
- HQ Interface & Closing: Assist in the preparation of monthly trial balances and financial data for HQ review, ensuring all local activity is reported accurately and on time.
- Local Operations & Office Support: Serve as a key team member in the local office, providing operational support, managing office-related financial tasks, and assisting with various administrative projects as needed.
Requirements
Requirements
- Experience: 2-4 years of experience in bookkeeping or financial operations, including proven experience in VAT reporting.
- Team Player: A strong collaborative mindset with the ability to integrate into a local team while maintaining a remote reporting line to HQ.
- Language Skills: Proficiency in English (written and verbal) – Mandatory, for daily communication with HQ and international stakeholders.
- Systems: Proficiency in accounting software (Exact experience is a major plus) and Excel.
- Education: Certified Bookkeeper.
- Personal Attributes: Proactive, highly organized, and able to work independently while being a supportive and positive team member.
