Our R&D team consists of experienced scientists who are passionate about pushing the boundaries of protein science and technology.We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Protein Biochemistry Intern to join our Bioprocessing team. The successful candidate will assist in conducting protein quantification analysis, developing analytical methods, and supporting ongoing research projects. The internship will provide an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in an industrial R&D laboratory setting and to develop essential analytical and research skills. Requirements Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in developing and running analytical assays to characterize recombinant proteins
  • Assist in performing purification of recombinant proteins expressed in microbial and fungal hosts for food ingredients and alternative protein
  • Support research projects by conducting experiments, collecting and analyzing data, and preparing reports
  • Work within a cross-disciplinary team to design and conduct scientific experiments
  • Participate in laboratory meetings and present findings to the team
Requirements:
  • Currently enrolled or graduating soon in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in biochemistry, biophysics, chemistry, or a related field. Minimum of 2 years studies in bachelor program
  • Strong academic background in protein analysis, biochemistry, or related areas
  • Excellent laboratory skills, including pipetting, solution preparation, and data analysis
  • Strong knowledge of basic protein chemistry and biophysics principles, including those pertaining to protein stability, protein modifications, and protein complex formation
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous laboratory experience in protein analysis or related areas
  • Experience in various purification methods such as ion exchange, hydrophobic interaction/HIC, size exclusion, and affinity chromatography
  • Familiarity with protein purification techniques and characterizing protein expression (quantification) and function using various techniques and tools such as BCA, SDS-PAGE, ELISA
  • Experience with statistical data analysis tools such as JMP and R
Position Location: Woodland, CAHours per week: 30-40Pay: $20-$25
