Role Description
The Lab Technician will work with a multidisciplinary team of scientists to help research and develop new solutions to customers in difficult to decarbonize industries. You will be responsible for supporting research focused on new applications of Via’s technology, and will work in our well-equipped lab to fabricate, test, and characterize membranes and liquids.
Responsibilities Include:
- Analyze liquid samples using basic wet chemistry techniques.
- Conduct tests to characterize thin film and other solid samples
- Learn lab instrumentation capabilities and become an expert user
- Record data and communicate results with team members
- Prepare samples for experimental studies.
- Operate filtration test units and execute sample analysis using standard equipment.
- Troubleshoot instrument performance issues and clearly communicate issues to the team
- Perform lab duties such as equipment calibration, cleaning, and inventory management
- Implement ongoing safety programs and help drive a clean & safe work environment.
The ideal candidate will have most, if not all, of these qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher showcasing lab-based coursework in chemistry, biology, biotechnology, chemical engineering, materials science, bioengineering, or a similar field.
- Hands-on lab skills and safe-lab practices are a must.

- Eager to learn with a willingness to be challenged.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- U.S. Work authorization is required for this role.
