Position Description:
We are looking for a Data Scientist to join our team in developing cutting-edge components for space and national security applications including Software Defined Radios, Digital Processing Systems, Space Rated Cameras, Star Trackers and Laser Communications. These are all space based embedded systems of significant complexity.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with hardware and optical engineering teams to determine system requirements and design approaches for star tracking camera systems
- Architect and design star tracking algorithms for determining spacecraft attitude.
- Create software models to analyze camera and star tracker performance.
- Participate in testing and troubleshooting of software and hardware.
- Communicate verbal and written status updates towards project goals
Requirements:
- BS degree in Physics, Math, or other related disciple, MS or higher preferred
- 7+ years of experience in algorithm development with emphasis is spacecraft guidance and control (GNC) and/or image processing.
- Experience with modeling tools such as Matlab, Octave, or the like.
- Experience with Python or other scripting languages
- Experience with configuration management and issue tracking tools
- Experience with C/C++ and embedded software development is a plus.
- Experience with modeling and analysis of optics is a plus
- Self-directive person with ability to handle a dynamic work environment.

Salary Range: $120,000.00 To $205,000.00 Annually
