General Requirements:

Basic Function:
Performs standard entry level mechanical engineering tasks and activities under the direction of engineering personnel.
Pay Range:
$25-$32/hour
Dates:
This is a summer internship position, with expected dates of performance approximately June 23 – September 12, 2025.
Responsibilities:
This position requires performance of Mechanical Engineering skills, inclusive of those identified below:
- Conduct SolidWorks tasks including entry level mechanical design, drawings, Enterprise PDM data management, and creation of toolbox features
- Assist in performing integrating and collecting engineering data for basic lab-based testing.
- Ability to machine and fabricate simple prototype test components.
- Assist engineering personnel in creating PowerPoint presentations and engineering test data reduction using MS Excel, writing reports using MS Word.
- Other related job duties, as assigned.
Experience:
Preferred: Previous experience in SolidWorks, engineering lab activities, and/or similar experience
Education:
Required: Attending an accredited college/university; working towards a Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related degree. Undergraduate students must be entering their junior year or later to be eligible for this position.
Skills:
- Ability to take direction and work in a highly collaborative team environment.
- Possess good communication skills, with an emphasis on verbal and written communication.
- SolidWorks, Ansys, and MS Office tools
- Working knowledge of mathematical and statistical principles and formulas
- Basic knowledge of mechanical systems
- Hands-on experience with mechanical components/devices
Other:
Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level (requires U.S. Citizenship)
