Winnow was founded in London in 2013 to help the hospitality industry prevent food waste through internet of things tools in the kitchen. We have worked with thousands of sites and are operating in over 90 countries around the world supported by our offices in London, Dubai, Singapore, Cluj-Napoca (Romania) and Chicago. We are a scale-up stage company with a strong base of clients who are rolling out our system globally. We have blue-chip customers including Accor Hotels, IKEA, IHG, Marriott, Compass Group and many others.
Winnow’s clients on average reduce waste by over 50% by value and sustain savings. Winnow works with hotels, universities and schools, staff restaurants, event/hospitality kitchens, buffets, pubs, and high street restaurants. Where the system is permanently adopted, pre-consumer waste value is reduced by 50% - 70% with no detrimental impact to the perceived quality or value of the offer to their customers. This represents a typical improvement of food cost savings of 3% to 8%, commonly a 40%+ increase in profitability for operations.
As the global leader in addressing food waste, we are committed to continue pushing the envelope on what technology can do to solve this problem. About the role
We are excited to be searching for a dynamic and talented Business Development Manager to join our team and drive Winnow's growth within the hospitality sector across the MENA region.
In this pivotal role, you will shape and execute the strategy to expand our footprint, identifying opportunities and leading initiatives that drive impactful results, particularly across the GCC markets.
Based in Dubai, you will collaborate with a diverse international team spanning sales, marketing, technology and account management across multiple global locations. This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in a mission-driven company making a meaningful difference in the fight against food waste.
Key objectives
- Lead the full end-to-end sales process with customers across the MENA region.
- Review and develop the Business Development strategy to grow Winnow’s footprint within the region.
- Build and manage a strong pipeline of potential clients in order to expand market penetration and deliver consistent revenue growth.
- Develop strong relationships with key influencers and decision makers in the hospitality industry to help build demand for our product.
- Develop strategies to win and grow business with clients, ensuring full alignment and buy-in from key stakeholders and decision makers.
- Nurture new accounts by highlighting early successes and supporting the expansion of our technology across their operations.
- Expand existing accounts by building on past successes and encouraging portfolio-wide adoption of our solutions.
- Identify routes into target organisations and develop relationships with C-suite stakeholders.
- Monitor competitor activity and market developments, identifying opportunities for collaboration or strategic partnerships.
- Represent Winnow at industry conferences, events and networking opportunities to strengthen our presence and grow our network.clients.
- Proven experience in business development, enterprise sales or SaaS sales.
- Demonstrated ability to manage the full sales cycle, from lead generation and prospecting through to closing complex deals.
- Experience selling technology solutions to large corporate clients is preferred.
- A strong track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Experience working within a high-performing sales team, ideally within an international environment.
- Strong understanding of B2B sales processes and strategic account management.
- Experience within hospitality, technology or sustainability-focused sectors would be considered an advantage.
- A university degree or equivalent professional experience is preferred.
