Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineer with expertise in PCBA manufacturing, reflow soldering, and PCBA workflow. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in reviewing the design of basic PCB boards, components, pads, and pad positioning. They should be familiar with both automated processes and hand-done soldering, which requires attention to detail and precision. Experience with solder masks, FMEA, lean manufacturing/six sigma methodologies, and Design for Manufacturing Assembly (DFMA) is essential.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the PCBA manufacturing process, ensuring high-quality standards and efficiency.
- Perform reflow soldering and manage the workflow for both automated and hand-done soldering processes.
- Review and analyze PCB designs, components, pads, and pad positioning to optimize manufacturing processes.
- Implement and maintain solder masks to ensure proper soldering and component placement.
- Conduct Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to identify and mitigate potential risks in the manufacturing process.
- Apply lean manufacturing and six sigma principles to improve process efficiency and reduce waste.
- Utilize single piece flow and visual management processes to enhance production workflows.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, quality, and production, to ensure seamless integration of manufacturing processes.
- Provide technical support and training to production staff on PCBA manufacturing and soldering techniques.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably mechanical, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience with PCBA workflows.
- Strong knowledge of DFMA, FMEA, lean manufacturing, and six sigma methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with single piece flow and visual management processes.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate technical information clearly.
- Experience in the aerospace or electronics industry is a plus.
