Position Summary
Voyager Technologies is seeking a skilled Low Voltage Systems Integration Specialist to join our growing Technology Solutions team. In this role, you will design, install, configure, and support a broad range of low voltage systems—including security, access control, surveillance, audio/visual, structured cabling, and building automation systems—for government, defense, and commercial clients. You will serve as a technical subject-matter expert and work closely with project managers, field technicians, and client stakeholders to deliver integrated solutions that meet the highest standards of performance and security.
Key Responsibilities
Systems Design & Integration
▪ Design, engineer, and document low voltage system solutions including CCTV/IP video surveillance, access control, intrusion detection, structured cabling (Cat5e/Cat6/fiber), intercoms, PA/mass notification, and AV systems.
▪ Develop system architecture drawings, schematics, and as-built documentation using AutoCAD, Revit, or equivalent tools.
▪ Perform site surveys, conduct needs assessments, and translate client requirements into technical solutions.
▪ Integrate diverse subsystems into unified platforms, ensuring interoperability across hardware, software, and network layers.
Installation & Configuration
▪ Lead or support custom cabinet builds, installation, termination, testing, and commissioning of low voltage cables and equipment in retrofit environments.
▪ Configure and program control panels, head-end software, IP cameras, VMS platforms, and access control databases.
▪ Perform system testing, troubleshooting, and acceptance testing to verify performance meets specifications and client requirements.
Project & Client Support
▪ Coordinate with project managers, general contractors, electrical subcontractors, and IT to ensure on-schedule, on-budget project delivery.
▪ Provide on-site technical guidance to installation crews and junior technicians; review work for quality and code compliance.
▪ Deliver end-user training and prepare system documentation, O&M manuals, and closeout packages at project completion.
▪ Support pre-sales efforts by contributing to proposals, bills of materials, and technical specifications.
Required Qualifications
▪ 3–5 years of hands-on experience in low voltage systems design, installation, or integration.
▪ Proficiency with two or more system types: IP video/VMS, access control, intrusion alarms, structured cabling, or AV/UC systems.
▪ Solid understanding of TCP/IP networking fundamentals, VLANs, PoE, and network security as applied to physical security systems.
▪ Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
▪ Knowledge of applicable codes and standards including NFPA 72, NEC Article 725, TIA-568/TIA-606, and ICD/ICS standards for government facilities.
▪ Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites as required.
▪ Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance (Secret or above); active clearance preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
▪ Industry certifications such as BICSI RCDD or RTPM, ESA/NTS, Lenel OnGuard, Genetec, Milestone, Axis, or AVIXA CTS.
▪ Experience working on federal, DoD, or secure facility projects (ICD 705, TEMPEST, SCIF environments).
▪ Associate’s degree in Electronics Technology, Network Systems, or a related field.
▪ Experience with building automation systems (BAS/BMS) and smart building integration protocols (BACnet, Modbus, KNX).
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
This position requires regular work at customer sites including government buildings, data centers, and construction environments. The role involves lifting up to 50 lbs, working at heights using ladders and lifts, and may require work in confined spaces or outdoor conditions. Some travel and occasional extended hours may be required to meet project deadlines. A pre-employment background check and drug screening are required.
The good faith base hourly range is $31.00-$38.00 for this role is at the time of this posting. Where you fall within the range depends on your experience, skills, and location. This range reflects base salary only and does not include benefits or bonus/incentive. This range may be adjusted in the future.
