The Senior Facilities Technician is responsible for maintaining and repairing the facilities and equipment used in the operation of the facility. This is a journeyman level position responsible for ensuring that facilities and adjacent grounds are maintained according to safety regulations and standards to provide the highest level of safety for employees and the public. This position reports to the Facilities Manager and will work onsite at ZincFive headquarters in Tualatin, Oregon.

Senior Facilities Technician Job Duties:

  • Performs a variety of skilled maintenance duties, including, but not limited to, carpentry, painting, drywall, plumbing, electrical, and heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC)
  • Inspects facilities and grounds to identify areas that require maintenance or repair work to maintain a clean and safe environment
  • Evaluates assigned work projects, including materials and staff resources needed to perform the work and complete the project within budget and time
  • Identifies and reports hazardous conditions and facility maintenance needs to Facilities Manager
  • Provides recommendations for and oversees contracted services to ensure compliance and quality of work
  • Follows all safety protocols and procedures
  • Performs custodial tasks, such as but not limited to, paper stocking, bathroom cleaning, window washing, general cleaning
  • Orders supplies, and maintains inventory and purchase records within authorized budget
  • Maintains records and logs of daily activities
  • Assists with special events as needed
  • Plans, executes, and reviews projects with limited supervision
  • This role will share on-call duties with the Facilities Manager and may at rare times work irregular schedules, including weekends, early mornings, evenings, and holidays.

Job Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 8-10 years of relevant work experience or a combination of training, education
  • Understanding and experience in, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, and HVAC
  • Experience using a variety of tools and equipment
  • Experience with various maintenance procedures like preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, and predictive maintenance
  • Proper and safe usage and storage of cleaning materials, disinfectants, paints, oils and stains, custodial tools, and equipment
  • Understanding of OSHA regulations and workplace safety practices Maintaining accurate maintenance and repair records MS Office applications
  • The ability to read and interpret drawings, technical manuals and schematics
  • A valid Driver’s License with proof of insurance maintained throughout employment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Possess a valid “Universal” level certification for CFC and HFC-based refrigerants to service, repair or dispose of equipment that could release ozone-depleting refrigerants to the atmosphere
  • Possess a valid Limited Maintenance Electrician (LME) license and experience to preform duties and work associated with a LME

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

Work will be performed in various settings, including offices, manufacturing, warehouse and outdoors. They may work in both indoor and outdoor environments with varying noise levels and weather conditions. They may also be required to work in confined spaces or height, as well as exposure to chemicals, mechanical and electrical hazards as well as fumes and airborne particles.

  • Capable of doing extensive walking, climbing of stairs and ladders
  • Ability to lift/carry/push/pull up to 50lbs
  • Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and talk and hear
  • Operate various power tools, hand tools and equipment
  • Specific vision abilities required include close/distance vision, color/depth vision
