The Facilities Technician is responsible for maintaining and repair of the facilities and assisting Senior Facilities Technician with complex repair projects. This position is also responsible for supporting the facilities and adjacent grounds in maintaining safety regulations and standards to provide the highest level of safety for employees and the public. This position reports to the Facilities Manager, and will work onsite at ZincFive headquarters in Tualatin, Oregon.

Facilities Technician Job Duties:

  • Work in coordination with the Senior Technician and assist their work as needed
  • Performs a variety of maintenance duties, including, but not limited to, basic carpentry, painting, drywall, plumbing, and floor repair.
  • Preform preventive maintenance inspections and repairs assigned
  • Inspects facilities and grounds to identify areas that require maintenance or repair work to maintain a clean and safe environment
  • Identifies and reports hazardous conditions and facility maintenance needs to Facilities Manager
  • Follows all safety protocols and procedures
  • Performs custodial tasks, such as, but not limited to, paper stocking, bathroom cleaning, window washing, general cleaning
  • Maintains records and logs as needed
  • Assists with special events as needed
  • This role will share on-call duties with the Facilities team and may at rare times work irregular schedules, including weekends, early mornings, evenings, and holidays.

Job Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • One to two years of relevant work experience or a combination of training, education
  • Basic understanding and experience in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, and HVAC
  • Basic experience using a variety of tools and equipment
  • Proper and safe usage and storage of cleaning materials, disinfectants, paints, oils and stains, custodial tools, and equipment
  • MS Office applications experience
  • The ability to read technical manuals and schematics
  • A valid Driver’s License with proof of insurance maintained throughout employment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • OSHA training
  • Advance experience using hand and power tools
  • Experience operating forklifts and other material/personal handling equipment

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

Work will be performed in various settings, including offices, manufacturing, warehouse and outdoors. They may work in both indoor and outdoor environments with varying noise levels and weather conditions. They may also be required to work in confined spaces or heights, as well as exposure to chemicals, mechanical and electrical hazards, fumes and airborne particles.

  • Capable of doing extensive walking, climbing stairs and ladders
  • Ability to lift/carry/push/pull up to 50lb
  • Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and talk and hear
  • Operate various power tools, hand tools and equipment
  • Specific vision abilities required include close/distance vision, color/depth vision
  • Must be able to wear proper PPE, when required
