Director of North America Data Center Sales

The Director of North America Data Center Sales is responsible for driving revenue growth for ZincFive’s battery cabinet solutions (BC Series) across collocation, enterprise, hyperscale/Neocloud, and mission-critical data center markets. The ideal candidate is a technical sales leader who excels at building relationships, developing talent, closing large, complex data center deals, and fostering a culture of teamwork and customer obsession. This role serves as a senior point of contact for key collocation operators, regional data center developers, consulting engineers, and mission-critical EPC/MEP engineering firms.
This role will work cross-functionally with marketing, applications engineering, product management, and leadership to ensure ZincFive’s BC Series products are positioned effectively and integrated into customer designs. This role may be performed remotely or from ZincFive headquarters in Tualatin, Oregon and reports directly to the VP of Global Sales and Product.
Director of North America Data Center Sales Job Duties:
- Lead, coach, and manage a North America sales team focused on colocation, enterprise, and regional data center operators
- Serve as a working manager with an individual quota and responsibility for closing your own deals while guiding team performance
- Establish a high-performance culture emphasizing teamwork, customer success, accountability, and continuous learning
- Conduct weekly deal reviews, forecast accuracy updates, and sales strategy sessions with the team
- Recruit, develop, and mentor top-tier technical sales talent and manage strategic customer relationships
- Lead all phases of the sales cycle, including qualification, design engagement, proposal development, negotiation, and closing
- Partner closely with applications engineering to deliver technical presentations, solution design guidance, and competitive positioning
- Present ZincFive’s BC Series advantages at trade shows, site walks, customer summits, and on executive roadshows
- Coordinate cross functionally with the product management and OEM partnership team when opportunities involve OEM/UPS integration, joint selling activities, or product roadmap/VOC discussions
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, technical discipline, business, or equivalent experience
- Minimum 7+ years of experience in data center power, UPS, battery systems, or mission-critical infrastructure sales
- Demonstrated success in both individual sales performance and managing a sales team
- Strong technical sales background with ability to discuss UPS, batteries, and data center electrical design in detail
- Proven ability to close large, complex, multi-stakeholder deals
- Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
- Experience selling to colocation and enterprise data center customers, including consulting engineers and MEP/EPCs
- Strong leadership skills with proven ability to coach and develop technical salespeople
- Proficiency in CRM systems and modern sales workflow tools
Preferred Experience/Skills:
- Master’s degree in business or engineering
- Technical experience with battery cabinet or advanced energy storage system sales
- Previous leadership experience in a high-growth or startup-like environment
- Understanding of UPS OEM ecosystems (Vertiv, Eaton, Schneider, ABB, Delta)
- Familiarity with specification selling, UL/IEEE standards, and power system codes
- Experience influencing product roadmap through structured voice-of-customer processes

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
