Job Title: Vehicle Testing Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a competent Vehicle Testing Engineer with a strong background in vehicle electrical integration, powertrain development, and testing of electric vehicles (EVs). The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in vehicle testing, validation, pre-homologation, and the ability to work with advanced testing tools and data acquisition systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Vehicle Testing and Validation:
  • Conduct comprehensive vehicle-level tests including range, energy consumption, speed, throttle mapping, thermal mapping, UI/UX, and software verification.
  • Lead end-to-end testing activities for HV & LV systems, including powertrain and motor controller integration.
  1. Data Analysis and Reporting:
  • Perform detailed data analysis of tests conducted, prepare and release test reports, and ensure timely closure.
  • Utilize diagnostic tools and data acquisition systems like VBOX Racelogic, CAN Loggers, Vector CANoe, etc., for test execution and analysis.
  1. Pre-Homologation and Certification:
  • Plan and execute pre-homologation tests and provide support during certification activities.
  • Coordinate with relevant teams for ARAI/VRDE homologation activities and ensure compliance with standards.
  1. System Integration and Feature Verification:
  • Collaborate on new product development through benchmarking, feature verification, integration, and validation.
  • Conduct FOTA (Firmware Over-The-Air) updates for test vehicles and perform failure root cause analysis (RCA).
  1. Test Planning and Coordination:
  • Prepare vehicle and component-level testing plans, Statements of Work (SOW), and Statements of Requirements (SOR).
  • Coordinate meetings with cross-functional teams to discuss and resolve testing issues.
  1. Equipment Management and Calibration:
  • Handle the procurement and calibration of testing tools and instruments as required.
  • Ensure that test setups are maintained and calibrated as per industry standards.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Educational Background: B.Tech/Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience: 4-6 years of relevant experience in vehicle testing and validation in the automotive or electric vehicle industry.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in using testing software and tools such as VBOX Racelogic, INFLUX Rexgen, Vector CANoe, and other data loggers.
  • Knowledge: Understanding of electric vehicle architecture, powertrain systems, BMS, and HV/LV systems.
