Piper Maddox has partnered with a leading energy services and infrastructure provider to hire a Regional Operations Manager to lead project delivery across California.

The business is a rapidly growing, NAESCO-accredited ESCO delivering turnkey engineering and construction solutions across energy efficiency, solar, EV infrastructure, and broader mechanical/electrical upgrades. With a strong presence in the public sector—particularly K-12—they have built a reputation for delivering complex, multi-scope infrastructure projects. California is a key strategic market, with the region experiencing significant revenue growth and positioned for continued expansion

The Regional Operations Manager will take full ownership of project execution and operational performance across the California region, overseeing a growing team and a diverse portfolio of clean energy and infrastructure projects.

You will be responsible for leading regional delivery, managing Project Managers and Superintendents, and ensuring projects are executed safely, on time, and within budget. The role also plays a key part in scaling operations, improving processes, and acting as the senior operational leader for the region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead execution and delivery of projects across the California region.
  • Manage schedules, budgets, quality, and risk across multiple active projects.
  • Oversee and develop a team of Project Managers and Superintendents.
  • Coordinate internal teams, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure successful delivery.
  • Drive consistency and structure across project execution processes.
  • Support regional growth as project volume continues to scale.
  • Act as the key operational point of contact for senior leadership.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in construction, energy, or infrastructure project delivery.
  • Background within an ESCO, EPC, or construction environment preferred.
  • Proven experience managing Project Managers and field teams.
  • Strong understanding of multi-project construction execution.
  • Experience with solar and/or energy efficiency projects.
  • Mechanical or electrical background is a plus.
  • Ability to operate both strategically and hands-on.
