New Opportunity with a Global Logistics Real Estate Client Expanding Its Energy Team

Our client is hiring an Energy Project Manager to support a growing portfolio of commercial rooftop solar and battery energy storage (BESS) projects across Northern California and the Western U.S.

This is a 12‑month contract role (with strong potential to convert to permanent) designed to be remote, with limited on‑site presence and up to 30% travel. The role supports large‑scale distributed generation initiatives critical to achieving net‑zero operations by 2040.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Manage design, engineering, construction, and commissioning of multi‑site solar & BESS projects
  • Oversee EPC partners, coordinating schedules, scope, and budgets
  • Track progress against monthly and quarterly milestones
  • Lead customer‑facing meetings with Fortune 100 tenants, utilities, and internal real estate teams
  • Coordinate utility interconnection (PG&E experience a strong plus)
  • Support Sales & Development with scope reviews, risk assessments, and value engineering
  • Ensure smooth project close‑out and handoff to Asset Management
  • Drive process improvements and best practices across project portfolios

What We’re Looking For

Required

  • 5+ years in construction or energy project management
  • Experience managing commercial solar and/or energy storage projects
  • Strong background in scope, schedule, and budget control
  • Experience working with utilities, EPCs, and client stakeholders
  • Knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and renewable installations
  • Experience with PPAs and BESS
  • OSHA 10 (or higher)
  • Ability to travel up to 30%

Nice to Have

  • C&I or rooftop solar EPC background (non‑utility scale)
  • Familiarity with PG&E, CAISO, or VNEM
  • Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
  • OSHA 30 or additional safety certifications

Schedule & Location

  • Hybrid (ideally 1 day onsite per week)
  • Must live within 2 hours of a California office (Bay Area, LA/OC, Newport Beach, Tracy)
  • Most projects in Northern California / South & East Bay
  • Typical workweek: 40-50 hours

Compensation

  • Rate: $70-$85 per hour
