Director / VP of Power Partnerships

Location: New York / Dallas

Salary: $250,000 - $300,000 + bonus

Piper Maddox are currently partnered with one of the most successful Data Center Development platforms in the US as they make a critical hire into their power team. Owned by a powerhouse real estate platform with over $40bl of development pipeline, this organization are pushing the limits for AI infrastructure.

What you will do:

• Serve as the primary point of contact with utility partners, managing and expanding relationships across the US.
• Oversee all utility engagement for active data center development projects, from interconnection agreements through to power delivery.
• Lead the origination and structuring of long-term PPAs for large load projects, including regulatory coordination.
• Identify and maintain a target list of utilities within relevant RTOs/ISOs that align with data center development criteria.
• Advise on power delivery strategies that accelerate time-to-power at target development sites.
• Support site development planning in coordination with the Site Selection team to ensure utility timelines align with project goals.

What you will have:

• Deep utility relationship experience — ideally across multiple RTOs or ISOs — who understands the full power delivery lifecycle from interconnection through to energization.
• Prior experience at a utility, developer, IPP, or on the utility side in transmission or capacity planning.
• Background in leading PPA agreements, including structuring, negotiating and closing high value agreements.
• Experience working for or partnering with data center / AI companies is preferred.
