We’re partnered with a global manufacturing organization undergoing a major U.S. expansion, supporting next-generation technologies within the automotive and energy supply chain.
They are seeking a Plant Controller to join a newly developing site in Columbia, SC. This is a high-impact, on-site role offering the opportunity to build and shape the finance function from the ground up during a critical phase of plant ramp-up.
The Opportunity
The site is currently in the early stages of production setup, with lines being installed and operations ramping. This role will serve as the financial lead for plant operations, partnering directly with site leadership to establish processes, improve visibility into cost drivers, and support operational decision-making. You’ll play a key role in transitioning from a shared services model to a fully embedded, plant-facing finance function.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the finance lead for site operations, partnering closely with plant leadership
- Own cost accounting and standard costing processes for the facility
- Analyze production costs, labor efficiency, and operational variances
- Build and implement financial processes, controls, and reporting structures
- Provide insights into cost drivers, performance trends, and operational KPIs
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and ongoing financial planning for the plant
- Drive continuous improvement across finance and operations
What They’re Looking For
- 5–7+ years of experience in manufacturing finance or accounting
- Strong background in cost accounting and standard costing
- Experience in an automotive, OEM, or Tier 1 manufacturing environment (required)
- Proven ability to partner with plant or operations leadership
- Hands-on, detail-oriented, and comfortable in a fast-paced, build environment
Additional Details
- Compensation: $130,000 – $140,000 base + bonus
- Schedule: 5 days/week on-site
- Location: Columbia, SC
