Company Overview:

This opportunity is with a well-established, profitable Independent Power Producer operating across the U.S., with a large and active portfolio of distributed generation solar projects. With ~200 active sites across 30+ states, the business is continuing to scale its C&I and DG platform and is investing heavily in strengthening its internal capabilities across development and grid integration.

This is a chance to join a platform that is already proven, but still in a phase of rapid growth — where individuals can have a direct impact on how projects are evaluated, structured, and executed.

The Opportunity:

This is the first dedicated Interconnection Manager hire, stepping into a highly strategic position with direct visibility to senior leadership.

You will own the interconnection function across the DG portfolio — not just managing applications, but influencing site selection, project viability, and overall development strategy.

This role sits at the very front end of the development lifecycle and plays a critical role in determining which projects move forward.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead interconnection strategy across a national DG/C&I solar portfolio

• Manage utility relationships, applications, and queue positioning

• Evaluate substations, feeder capacity, and upgrade requirements

• Analyze interconnection studies and advise on cost, risk, and timelines

• Partner with development on site origination and land evaluation

• Provide strategic input on project viability based on grid constraints

• Coordinate across engineering, development, and external consultants

• Support both front-of-the-meter and (to a lesser extent) behind-the-meter projects

What They’re Looking For:

• Strong experience in interconnection within DG, solar, or broader renewables

• Background working with a developer, EPC, or IPP

• Familiarity with key ISOs (CAISO highly preferred, ERCOT/PJM also relevant)

• Ability to interpret interconnection studies (not necessarily run them)

• Experience evaluating substations, grid capacity, and upgrade costs

• Strong communication skills — able to work cross-functionally and influence decisions

• Strategic mindset — not just process-driven

Why This Role:

• First hire in interconnection — opportunity to build and shape the function

• High visibility role with direct interaction with senior leadership

• Strategic impact on project selection and pipeline growth

• Fully remote with flexibility

• Join a profitable, scaling IPP with a strong track record and active pipeline
