Design Engineering Manager (Remote) – High-Growth Switchgear OEM

We are looking for a hands-on Engineering Manager to serve as the technical lead for our Engineer-to-Order (ETO) projects serving data center, renewables, utilities, and C&I sectors. This is a "player-coach" role where you will design custom LV/MV switchgear and lead a multidisciplinary team to ensure shipped products are safe, reliable, and ready for the North American markets.

What You’ll Own

• Take ownership of design for LV switchboards and MV switchgear from initial concept to Bill of Materials (BOM).
• Manage and mentor a geographically distributed team of electrical and mechanical engineers.
• Lead technical direction for system integration, commissioning, and troubleshooting in the field.
• Ensure all designs meet rigorous UL, IEEE, and NEC standards, as well as specific California utility requirements (SCE, PG&E, etc.).

Who You Are

• BSEE or BSME with 5+ years of direct experience in LV and MV switchgear design.
• Proficient in AutoCAD Electrical and Solidworks to begin tackling order backlog with minimal ramp up on tools.
• Prior formal management experience with a track record of leading technical teams through complex, fast-paced projects.
• Bilingual in Spanish is a major advantage for collaborating with Mexicali-based manufacturing operations leadership.
• Comfortable with 30-40% travel to manufacturing sites in Mexicali to support production and QA/QC.
