We are seeking a Lead Control Room Operator to support the operation of a fully automated process plant. This role is primarily control room based with occasional field involvement and plays a key role in maintaining overall plant performance and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and operate a fully automated process plant from the control room with occasional field involvement
- Serve as the central point of control for plant operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and continuous performance
- Operate and monitor plant systems through an HMI and PLC interface
- Start and stop motors and open and close valves both remotely and in the field
- Monitor pressure, temperature, flow, and other system data to optimize performance
- Troubleshoot operational issues using system controls and real time data trends
- Maintain and switch pumps and other rotating equipment
- Ensure continuous and efficient process flow across the facility
- Direct and coordinate outside operators via radio communication
- Act as the primary decision maker for plant operations
Qualifications and Preferred Background
- 5+ years of experience in industrial process operations within a process driven environment such as chemical, gas processing, or similar facilities
- Experience operating automated systems using HMI and PLC control systems
- Strong understanding of process plant operations, ideally within gas processing or similar industries
- Hands on experience with compressors, pumps, valves, blowers, and rotating equipment
- Familiarity with instrumentation and process control systems
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs and operating manuals
- Experience using process data to troubleshoot and optimize systems
- Ability to line up systems for startup and shutdown
- Proven ability to lead, communicate effectively, and direct field personnel
- Comfortable making real time operational decisions and mentoring team members
- Background in renewable natural gas, chemical processing, natural gas, or similar industrial environments is preferred
