Title: Senior Mechanical Engineer (NPD) – MV and HV Switchgear
Location: Chicago, IL (On-site at R&D Center | Relocation Provided)
Compensation: $125,000 – $150,000 + Quarterly Bonus + Annual Profit Sharing + Comprehensive Benefits

The "Toy Box" (Why this role is on-site):
You will have daily access to an industry-leading, full-scale, in-house testing facility, including:
- 500kV AC withstand & 1300kV lightning impulse labs.
- Environmental chambers (down to -70°C).
- The autonomy to concept, prototype, and "break" your designs in real-time.
What You’ll Own:
- Lead NPD for medium and high-voltage switchgear, reclosers, and fault-protection systems.
- Design and integrate enclosures, actuated mechanisms, thermal and structural components
- Hands-on test plan creation and execution in the high-voltage lab.
- Drive product design decisions that impact critical electric utility and data center infrastructure.
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in MV or HV switchgear design (>1kV) from an OEM background
- Strong grasp of IEEE/NEC standards and a passion for power systems
- A Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) is required.
- Experience with a structured R&D/NPD process (stage-gate, agile, etc.)
