A Piper Maddox client is seeking a highly motivated Nuclear Engineer with deep expertise in thermal hydraulics and fuel performance to support advanced fuel design and analysis activities. This is a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge reactor technologies and collaborate with leading experts in the field.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform multiphase computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis of fuel bundles across CHF, dryout, and post-dryout conditions
• Conduct thermal analysis of fuel bundles and channels under steady-state and transient operating scenarios
• Support safety, licensing, and design validation efforts through advanced simulation and analysis
• Collaborate closely with internal teams & external stakeholders on fuel design and development initiatives

Key Qualifications & Background:

• MSc or PhD in Nuclear Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline
• Strong background in nuclear quality assurance, reactor safety, and licensing
• Proven experience in thermal-hydraulic analysis, including multiphase heat transfer in 3D environments
• Hands-on experience with industry-standard codes such as RELAP and CATHENA
• Expertise in nuclear fuel performance, particularly high burnup behavior
• Familiarity with US NRC tools and regulatory frameworks
• Proficiency in scripting and automation
