Sales Account Manager - Distributed Clean Power & Data Center Solutions (Confidential Series C Company)
Location: Remote with travel
Piper Maddox is currently partnered with a high-growth energy technology company on a key commercial hire as they scale their next phase of growth.
The story:
This company is developing energy recovery systems that convert wasted pressure from natural gas, hydrogen, and industrial gas infrastructure into clean electricity through proprietary turboexpander technology. Backed by top-tier strategic investors, they are now shifting from a product-led model to an energy-as-a-service platform — targeting high-growth sectors like data centers and industrial facilities, where demand for reliable, on-site, low-carbon power is accelerating.
Responsibilities:
• Building and executing a greenfield sales strategy across data centers, utilities, and power developers
• Owning full end-to-end deal cycles
• Structuring and negotiating complex energy solutions (power, cooling, EaaS models)
• Developing relationships with data center operators, utilities, and distributed energy buyers
• Leading early-stage market development + representing the business at industry events
Background Requirements:
• 8–10+ years in energy, power, or infrastructure sales
• Experience selling solutions (not just products)
• Strong understanding of power generation / electric infrastructure / distributed energy
• Background in:
– Clean energy / distributed generation / microgrids
– Midstream / gas infrastructure (new tech or power initiatives)
– Behind-the-meter / decentralized energy solutions
• Proven hunter mentality + ability to build pipeline from scratch
• Track record of closing complex, technical deals
Nice to have:
• Energy-as-a-Service or C&I energy experience
• Existing relationships across data centers, utilities, or IPPs
• Exposure to structured/project-based energy deals
