Piper Maddox has partnered with a well-established, full-scope renewable energy EPC and construction contractor with a strong track record delivering solar and energy storage projects across the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic.
The business specializes in turnkey engineering, procurement, and construction solutions across distributed generation, community solar, commercial rooftop, and battery energy storage projects. With more than 400MW of solar successfully delivered, they have built a strong reputation as a trusted EPC partner across New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts, and surrounding markets. With an active pipeline of community solar and DG projects, they are looking to bring on a Solar Superintendent to support the delivery of a standalone solar project in Byron, New York.
As a Solar Superintendent, you will lead on-site execution of the project, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery across all phases of construction.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day field construction activities across the Byron solar project
- Manage subcontractors, crews, and site personnel to ensure schedule and performance targets are met
- Lead daily site coordination and construction sequencing across civil, mechanical, and electrical scopes
- Conduct site walks and ensure work is progressing in line with drawings and project specifications
- Lead site safety initiatives, toolbox talks, and OSHA compliance
- Work closely with project management, engineering, and commissioning teams throughout the project lifecycle
- Identify and mitigate construction risks, resolving field issues as they arise
- Drive productivity, accountability, and quality across all site teams
- Maintain daily reports, manpower logs, and progress updates
- Support commissioning, punch list, and project closeout activities
Experience Required
- Strong experience delivering DG / community solar projects
- Proven track record as a Solar Superintendent or similar field leadership role
- Experience overseeing subcontractors, site crews, and daily construction operations
- Strong preference for experience delivering projects in New York State
- Strong understanding of OSHA compliance, site safety management, and toolbox talk leadership
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, electrical one-lines, and commissioning
