Title: Sr Mechanical Engineer, New Product Development

Location: Chicago, IL (On-site at R&D Center | Relocation Support Provided)

Compensation: $125,000 – $145,000 + Quarterly Bonus + Profit Sharing + Comprehensive Benefits

You will have daily access to an industry-leading, full-scale, in-house testing facility, including:

• 500kV AC withstand & 1300kV lightning impulse labs.
• Environmental chambers (down to -70°C).
• Autonomy to concept, prototype, and rapidly iterate on your designs

Role:

• Lead NPD projects for MV (5kV - 38kV) and HV switchgear (>38kV), reclosers, and fault-protection systems.
• Design new high-accuracy current and voltage sensors for power grid automation systems.
• Hands-on test plan creation and execution in the on-site high-voltage lab.
• Drive product design decisions that impact critical electric infrastructure.

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years of experience in MV or HV power systems design (>1kV)
• Strong grasp of IEEE/NEC standards and a passion for electrical power systems
• A Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) is required.
• You come from an OEM background or a utility substation design environment
