Initial 6mth contract (FTE and extension opportunities)
Hybrid 3days onsite/wk - Boston, Austin or Chicago
We are urgently seeking a Scheduler / Sr Scheduler to maintain the integrity of project schedules and related workflows to optimize efficiency, predictability, and visibility across our clients solar and storage portfolio. This role serves as the lead scheduler for complex, high-visibility projects and emerging markets, driving consistency, data quality, and alignment across project teams and systems. This role also plays a key role in portfolio-level reporting and continuous improvement of the client's scheduling standards and practices.
Key Responsibilities
Schedule Development & Portfolio Leadership
- Maintain and update project schedules across all phases—from Development through Final Completion—ensuring alignment with project scope, objectives, and deadlines.
- Serve as the lead scheduler for complex, high-visibility projects and emerging markets, applying advanced scheduling judgment to new geographies, technologies, delivery models, or financing structures and setting the standard for how these are modeled and maintained.
- Drive integration of individual project schedules into the master schedule, identifying, communicating, and helping resolve conflicts and dependencies across teams.
- Uphold and enforce CED (Clean Energy Deployment or EPC) scheduling standards, workflows, and deadlines across all assigned schedules, modeling best practices for the broader team.
Progress Monitoring & Risk Escalation
- Continuously monitor schedule progress and performance across the portfolio, comparing current status to baselines, budgets, and milestones.
- Generate, interpret, and challenge reports comparing project performance to baseline schedules, highlighting key trends, risks, and impacts on cost and timelines.
- Anticipate and escalate schedule risks or issues with clear, data-driven recommendations to project teams and CED Operations leadership.
Data Integrity & Cross-Platform Alignment
- Steward schedule-related data integrity across platforms such as Primavera P6, Salesforce, Procore, and other scheduling or project management tools.
- Cross-check dates, milestones, and dependencies across systems, resolving discrepancies and strengthening cross-system alignment.
- Ensure schedule data is clean, complete, and structured to support accurate portfolio reporting and dashboards.
Reporting & Stakeholder Communication
- Lead the execution of recurring and ad hoc reporting activities of varying complexity, leveraging established templates and partnering with senior leaders to refine outputs as needed.
- Design and deliver custom schedule and performance reports based on defined requirements, ensuring outputs are accurate, actionable, and aligned with stakeholder expectations and reporting standards.
- Communicate proactively and credibly with cross-functional stakeholders, translating schedule data into clear impacts, options, and recommendations, and facilitating alignment on path forward.
Process Improvement & Team Leadership
- Partner with the CED Operations Leadership team to identify, prioritize, and implement process improvements that increase efficiency, standardization, and scheduling quality.
- Provide feedback on scheduling templates, workflows, and reporting structures where recurring issues or inefficiencies are observed.
- Model best practices for schedule creation, maintenance, and reporting and, as the team grows, support onboarding and informal coaching of more junior schedulers or coordinators.
- This role may have direct reports in the future as the portfolio and team evolve.
