We’re hiring a Senior Project Manager (BESS / Solar + Storage)
A growing renewable energy platform is seeking a hands-on Senior Project Manager to support the execution of utility-scale battery energy storage (BESS) and solar + storage projects. This is a high-impact role working on large-scale assets across Texas and surrounding markets, with significant project volume secured over the next several years.
About the Role
This position plays a critical role in delivering utility-scale BESS and hybrid (PV + storage) projects from late-stage development through construction and commercial operation (COD). The role requires a hands-on project delivery mindset, with responsibility for managing contractors, coordinating stakeholders, and ensuring projects are delivered on schedule and within budget.
You’ll work closely with internal teams and external partners across both office and field environments, supporting execution on some of the largest storage projects in the market.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead execution of utility-scale BESS and solar + storage projects from late-stage development through COD
• Manage EPC contractors, subcontractors, and vendors across construction and commissioning phases
• Support project budgeting, cost tracking, and schedule management
• Coordinate cross-functional teams including development, engineering, procurement, and asset management
• Oversee site activities through regular field presence and contractor engagement
• Ensure projects meet quality, safety, and regulatory standards
• Support contract execution, change order management, and issue resolution
• Assist in risk identification and mitigation throughout the project lifecycle
• Contribute to project reporting and performance tracking
Core Requirements
• Strong experience in battery energy storage systems (BESS)
• 2–3+ years supporting at least one major BESS project, ideally through COD
• Experience with hybrid solar + storage (PV + BESS) projects
• Background in EPC, IPP, or both preferred
• Experience working across both office and field environments
• Willingness to travel to project sites 1–2 times per month
• Familiarity with ERCOT required; MISO experience a plus
Level & Qualifications
• Title: Manager or Senior Manager (depending on experience)
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
• PMP certification is a plus
• Experience supporting large-scale infrastructure or energy projects
• Strong understanding of construction execution, project controls, and contractor management
