Market Entry Lead – France (Contract)

Role Summary
An established B2B SaaS provider in the electric mobility space is appointing an independent Market Entry Lead to support early-stage expansion activities in France. The focus of this contract is to test market assumptions, engage prospective customers, and drive initial pilot adoption within the EV charging ecosystem.
This role is suited to someone who enjoys operating close to the market, learning directly from customers, and turning conversations into concrete next steps.
Contract Structure
- Engagement: Freelance / Contractor
- Contract length: 6 months
- Working model: Predominantly remote, with regular on-site meetings across France
- Languages: Fluent French; professional English
- Availability: Immediate or short notice preferred
Areas of Responsibility
The assignment combines market learning with early commercial execution and requires a proactive, externally focused approach.
Responsibilities fall into two overlapping areas:
1. Market & Customer Validation (Months 1–3)
- Lead around 50 structured discussions with French organisations involved in fleet operations, mobility strategy, or EV infrastructure decision-making
- Independently source and secure meetings through outbound outreach and existing networks
- Use conversations to identify:
- Pain points related to EV charging operations, reimbursement, access, or cost control
- How organisations currently manage charging across public, workplace, or home environments
- Competing software platforms or service providers in use
- Expectations, constraints, and buying criteria specific to the French market
- Synthesise insights into clear, actionable learning to guide product positioning and market approach
The emphasis is on primary insight drawn directly from real users and buyers within the EV charging and mobility ecosystem.
2. Pilot Generation & Early Traction (Months 2–3)
- Progress qualified discussions towards 20 agreed pilot programmes
- Secure commitment to low-risk pilots using an existing EV charging or mobility SaaS platform, delivered in cooperation with a local partner
- Focus on operational relevance and decision-maker alignment rather than non-committal expressions of interest
Pilot conversion is a central success metric for the engagement.

Key experience and attributes:
- Full professional fluency in French, with confidence engaging senior stakeholders
- 3–6 years’ experience in B2B roles such as business development, go-to-market execution, or customer discovery
- Demonstrated ability to:
- Open doors in mid-to-large organisations
- Navigate multi-stakeholder decision processes
- Run structured, insight-led conversations
- Prior exposure to B2B SaaS products is important
- Experience in EV charging, fleet technology, mobility software, energy tech, or adjacent sectors is strongly advantageous
