Senior BESS Project Developer

📍Location: Hamburg - 2 x week in office

📉Salary: €75,000 - €100,000 (Depending on Experience) + Bonus

We have partnered with a German-founded IPP with deep roots in the German energy market, which has since expanded its footprint across Europe.

My client is looking for a Senior BESS Project Developer to support this expansion in Germany.

Key Responsibilities📝

• Responsible for the development of large-scale battery storage projects in Germany
• Structure, prioritise, and deliver projects from concept to completion
• Operate at the intersection of market, technology, regulation, and financing to turn concepts into realised projects
• Full project ownership, coordinate all phases through to final investment decision and handover to asset management
• Stakeholder management, collaborate with network operators, authorities, landowners, municipalities, and internal teams (Commercial, Engineering, Investment)
• Contracting & structuring, lead the structuring and negotiation of key project agreements
• Budget, timeline & resources, manage budgets, schedules, and external service providers
• Feasibility oversight, ensure projects are viable from regulatory, technical, and economic perspectives
• Reporting & approvals, prepare decision materials and manage internal approval processes

Requirements ✔

• Completed studies in relevant field such as; economics, engineering, environmental science.
• 3+ years of experience in project management for renewable energy, ideally BESS.
• Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks and grid connection requirements
• Entrepreneurial mindset with a high level of ownership and a pragmatic, hands-on approach
• Fluency in both German and English
