A leading renewable energy owner/operator is looking to hire a Senior Operations Engineer to support the performance, reliability, and ongoing optimization of a growing portfolio of wind, solar, and energy storage assets.

This role sits within the operations engineering team and will play a key part in ensuring assets are running efficiently while supporting long-term improvements across electrical systems and infrastructure.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead complex electrical projects from concept through commissioning, including shutdowns, upgrades, and modernization initiatives
  • Provide technical expertise across substations, collector systems, and interconnection infrastructure
  • Support site teams with troubleshooting, performance improvements, and reliability enhancements
  • Coordinate with external vendors, consultants, and internal stakeholders in a matrixed environment
  • Collaborate with development and construction teams to ensure projects meet safety, quality, and performance standards

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 5+ years of experience in high-voltage substations and protection and control
  • Strong hands-on experience with field work and operational assets
  • Familiarity with standards such as NERC, IEEE, CSA, and ANSI/NETA

Preferred experience:

  • Background in renewable energy operations (wind, solar, BESS, or hydro)
  • Understanding of the Ontario market and regulatory framework
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) license in Ontario
  • Experience with power system modeling tools such as EasyPower, ETAP, or EMT
