Environmental Permitting Engineer

You will join a company currently transitioning towards an IPP model, with a strong pipeline of over 600 MW across 40 projects at various stages of development. The company manages the full development lifecycle, from land identification and technical design through to permitting processes and EPC contract management. WE are searching for an Enviornmental specialist with deep expertise in permitting and authoring complex regulatory documentation. This role is suited to a specialist who has personally written and signed off key permitting documents and has successfully guided projects through the full authorization process in Italy.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the permitting strategy and execution for renewable energy projects (PV, wind, BESS).
- Draft from scratch and coordinate complex authorization documentation, including: V.I.A. studies, Technical reports for P.A.U.R., A.U., and P.A.S. procedures, and Supporting technical analyses (noise, ecology, hydrology, landscape, etc.).
- Manage feasibility studies, regulatory screening, and risk assessments.
- Experience in land and site analysis, including constraints mapping and permitting feasibility.
- Interface with authorities, consultants, and stakeholders throughout the authorization process.
- Drive projects through the full permitting lifecycle, from early-stage screening to final approval.
Key Requirements (Must-Have)
- Degree in Architecture, Environmental Engineer, or equivalent
- Proven experience writing permitting documentation from scratch (not just coordinating).
- Demonstrated track record of bringing projects successfully through permitting, (P.A.U.R., A.U., P.A.S.).
- Professional capacity to sign off technical documents (e.g. registered engineer, environmental consultant, or equivalent).
- Fluency in Italian and English.
