Piper Maddox is partnered with a growth-oriented Independent Power Producer (IPP) that is scaling its internal project execution capability as it expands across utility-scale energy infrastructure. We are seeking a Head of Project Execution to lead the delivery of a diverse portfolio of utility-scale projects including Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), thermal generation, and hybrid energy assets.

This is a high-impact leadership opportunity for someone who wants to build and scale a best-in-class execution function within a fast-growing platform backed by significant long-term investment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead full project lifecycle execution from NTP through COD and operational handover

• Oversee utility-scale BESS, thermal, and hybrid generation projects across multiple concurrent sites

• Build and standardize project execution frameworks, governance, reporting, and risk management processes

• Manage EPC contractors, OEMs, utilities, regulators, and cross-functional internal stakeholders

• Drive schedule, budget, safety, quality, environmental compliance, and commissioning performance

• Build and mentor high-performing project execution and construction teams

• Partner closely with development, finance, engineering, legal, and operations teams to support long-term growth

Ideal Background:

• 10+ years of experience delivering large-scale energy infrastructure projects

• Strong utility-scale experience across BESS, solar, wind, natural gas, combined cycle, or hybrid assets

• Proven success managing multiple $50M–$100M+ projects simultaneously

• Deep EPC contracting, contractor management, and execution strategy expertise

• Experience operating in fast-paced, high-growth or PE-backed environments

• Strong leadership profile with the ability to build systems, teams, and scalable processes
