Line manager: CEODepartment: OperationsReporting to the CEO, the Head Operations will manage and continually develop all aspects of production at the ENOUGH facility in Sas van Gent, Netherlands, to optimise product safety, consistency, quality, and output. They are the compass that guides us through the volatility, uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguity of our world.Key responsibilities:- Lead and develop the operations management department, while contributing to the development and delivery of operational strategy and plant performance.- Full responsibility for the operations management and operational optimisation of the ENOUGH Production Facility at Sas van Gent.- Plan, develop, and implement strategies for operational management, continuous improvement to exceed operational performance targets and timelines.- Oversee day-to-day operational functions, including production, maintenance, process engineering, and supply chain logistics.- Ensure the delivery of agreed-upon objectives, customer service levels, and product quality in the most efficient, safe, and cost-effective way.- Develop a continuous improvement strategy and culture for all areas of operations to exceed industry best practice.- Maintain and develop systems for measuring and reporting on operations and performance.- Monitor, measure, and report on opportunities, improvement, and development plans.- Exercise effective leadership of the team, ensuring procedural discipline to deliver the highest standards of food safety, hygiene, GMP, Quality, HSE, and production output.- Ensure that operations are compliant with all relevant legislation (food safety, health and safety, product quality, environmental).- Act as an ambassador for ENOUGH and its values both internally and externally.- Manage end-to-end supply chain processes, production planning, scheduling, and execution.- Implement best practices in inventory management to minimize costs and ensure product availability.Key Competencies:- Strategy & Planning: Operational Strategy, Risk & Resilience.- Operational Excellence: Lean, KPIs, OEE, Waste Control.- Financial Design: Budgeting, Procurement, Analytics.- People Leadership: Team mentoring, Change management.- Quality & Compliance: Food safety, Regulatory governance.- Business Insight: Commercial awareness, Margin focus.- Communication: Executive reporting, Stakeholder alignment.Qualifications & Experience:- A minimum bachelor’s degree in Process, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.- Strong leadership and people skills.- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail (data driven).- "Can do attitude"; high visibility and must "walk the talk".- Ability to challenge established working practices.- Proven competence in management of a relevant production process; Lean principles; cost-reduction projects.- Project Management Professional (PMP) experience.- Fermentation background is a plus.- Proven commercial aptitude and track record of contributing to a successful business.- Track record of maintaining and achieving high-quality standards.- Previous experience in change management.- Minimum of 10 years of operational management experience, preferably in food manufacturing or industrial biotech.- Experience working in a production plant is essential, with a processing background.- Experience driving operational excellence and strong manufacturing knowledge; root cause analyses.Company Initiatives:- Take responsibility for Health & Safety and comply with company policies and legislation.- Support Company Initiatives and demonstrate Enough’s Company Values.- Develop, build, and advocate for a culture of food safety and health & safety.- Comply with all legal, regulatory and statutory obligations applicable to the role.- Be flexible in undertaking duties; carry out any other reasonable tasks as required by the Company.This job description is a high level of the main duties of the role but is not exhaustive.
