As a Senior Software Engineering Manager at rePurpose Global you will be responsible for managing and growing a team of 3 engineers while serving as an independent contributor as required. We’re looking for a player/coach who loves to build products while mentoring and growing a team of engineers. You will collaborate heavily with our product managers and other business leaders throughout the company to ensure alignment between our products and people.
Responsibilities
- Manage a team of full-stack engineers: provide mentorship and career guidance, organize sprint plans, run performance reviews.
- Independent contributions: as a player/coach you will be expected to contribute code directly.
- Collaborate with product and design teams on roadmapping, refining requirements and estimation.
- Work closely with the Head of Engineering to refine our processes and technical architecture.
- Project manage the team’s work, ensuring adherence to deadlines and best practices.
- Excellent leadership skills, combining a low-ego approach, competitive spirit, and ability to motivate and empower others.
- A minimum of 7 years of total experience, with at least 2 years of managing direct reports.
- Experience working in a start-up environment with a fast pace and evolving needs.
- Experience with Typescript, Nodejs, Relational databases (we use Postgres but any similar experience works!), Modern frontend frameworks (we use Vue, but experience with React or Angular works too), Cloud infrastructure: we use AWS, but experience with GCP or Azure is acceptable, CI/CD
- Biased towards action - You are thoughtful in planning how to build technology but are not afraid to make decisions and do the work that is required to get results
Location Preference:
The role is hybrid working, we are looking for the team members to be located at our head office in Bangalore, with weekly in-office days. We have a truly global team - with members across Miami, New York, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, London, Nairobi, Bangalore, Delhi, Mumbai, and Jakarta.
